While watching Obama's State of the Union Address, his speech covered a wide variety of topics that I thought appealed not only to the upper-class but focused on the middle-class. Oil production on U.S. soil, deficits "cut in half"etc. But what caught my attention, as a 19-year-old making minimum wage( Which will be raised ) paying for college, bills etc. The "work hard, take responsibility" theory that is been weakened, because higher waged Jobs are/were being Outsourced. That's when I remembered. My mother said they started to outsource for fiber splicers at AT&T and at her facility. As a college student with little to no money this saddened me, but Obama said we will start in sourcing our jobs and hopefully our economy will flourish once again. Almost everything we talked about in class was covered within the first hour. I was very surprised to see that most of Congress seemed to of like what Obama said... I look forward to the discussion we have in class tomorrow!
